Lebanese type designer,a leading figure in contemporary Arabic typography. Earned a BA from the American University of Beirut,an MA in typeface design from the University of Reading,and a PhD on Arabic legibility from Leiden University (2012). As Arabic specialist at Linotype/Monotype (2005-2018) she designed the Arabic companions to Helvetica,Univers and Zapfino. Most notably she created Frutiger Arabic (2007) as an official companion to Adrian Frutiger's humanist sans,developed with his direct input. Runs ArabicType in London.
